on Which a Cal-Shake
® Roof Was or Is Installed,

You May Be Eligible to Receive a Payment From
the Court Approved $61.42 Million New Cal-Shake Settlement.


The New Cal-Shake Settlement, which was granted final approval on November 15, 2005, created a $61.42 million Settlement Fund to cover the claims of New Cal-Shake Settlement Class members.  Payments to New Cal-Shake Settlement Class Members out of the Settlement Fund will be made in accordance with the Plan of Allocation -- Year One that was approved by the Court on November 15, 2005.

Cal-Shake, Inc. (“New Cal-Shake”) manufactured cement composite roofing products, marketed as Cal-Shake shakes. Cal-Shake shakes are a fiber cement roofing product made to look like wood shakes or slate tiles. Cal-Shake Inc. also manufactured Cal-Slate and Cal-Clay, both of which are included in this settlement.

Who Is Involved in the New Cal-Shake Settlement Class?
The Settlement settles claims of the New Cal-Shake Settlement Class. The Class includes all owners of residential and commercial property in the United States on which Cal-Shake shakes manufactured by New Cal-Shake between February 1, 1986 and March 31, 1995 are, or have been, installed. The Class includes property owners who have replaced their Cal-Shake shakes.

How to File a Claim
Claim Forms will be mailed to Class Members who have registered with Class Counsel or the New Cal-Shake Settlement Administrator. If you have not registered to receive a Claim Form you may either download a Claim Form or request one be sent to you by contacting the New Cal-Shake Settlement Administrator at 1-866-844-0600.  To download a Claim Form, click here.

How to Identify New Cal-Shake's Roofing Product and the Installation Date
Cal-Shake shakes are a composite product made from Portland cement and perlite. They were manufactured by New Cal-Shake between February 1986 and March 1995, and marketed under the name Cal-Shake. These shakes bear the Cal-Shake trademark on the top half of each Shake. For help in determining whether you have a Cal-Shake roof manufactured by New Cal-Shake, click here.
